Privately owned, Niakwa is headquartered near Chicago with its research and development laboratory in Winnipeg, Canada. Since the early 1980s, Niakwa has provided high quality, high performance, highly portable development software and services to application developers worldwide.

Niakwa's distribution network covers the globe, with 65% of all revenue coming from the domestic market and 35% from the international market. International sales are handled by Niakwa's Master Distributors located in Australia, France, Germany, Singapore, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

Product Line

The Niakwa product line consists of the Niakwa Programming Language (NPL), a host of development tools, imaging systems, and systems integration services.

• NPL - Niakwa develops, markets, and supports NPL, a third generation programming language which provides developers 100% object and source code compatibility across most major operating systems, including: AIX, HP-UX, Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP, Novell NetWare, Solaris, and SCO OpenServer Unix.

• Development Tools - To complement NPL, Niakwa offers an Integrated Development Environment including: a data manager that provides API access to ISAM and SQL file formats; a Windows screen management product which provides an interactive link between NPL and Visual Basic; and other tools including a powerful Editor/Debugger for state-of-the-art program development.

• Consulting & Programming Services - Niakwa's Consulting & Programming Services provide a host of services directly to end-users and resellers. These services include: Systems Balance, consulting, order fulfillment, training, installation, contract programming, customization, and on-going support.

Customer Base

Niakwa's software products are distributed through a worldwide network of over 400 resellers who represent more than 140,000 users. Most of Niakwa's resellers service their own vertical markets. In all, Niakwa resellers have written thousands of business, engineering, and scientific applications utilized by end-users worldwide, as well as horizontal applications, such as spread sheets, database systems, word processors, and even fourth generation languages. In addition, Niakwa has contracted directly with some of the world's largest organizations in distribution, insurance, banking, etc.
