Volume 4 No. 14 Community News & Information June 28, 2000 In this Issue: * WORKBENCH DEBUGGER BETA AND OTHER 5.10 IDE BETA ITEMS AVAILABLE NOW * REMINDER - NIAKWA OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY AND TUESDAY (JULY 3 AND 4, 2000) IN OBSERVANCE OF THE INDEPENDENCE DAY HOLIDAY WORKBENCH DEBUGGER BETA AND OTHER 5.10 IDE BETA ITEMS AVAILABLE NOW The 5.10 IDE Beta CD-ROM, containing the much anticipated Workbench Debugger, has been sent to production. This means that within a few weeks we should be able to ship it to all renewed resellers. The Workbench provides a highly effective graphical environment for application development. The Workbench/Debugger offers veteran NPL programmers an integrated environment in which to develop and execute code. In addition, the Workbench has a familiar Windows interface for programmers that are new to NPL. In this new version of the Workbench, files related to an application are organized and managed in a tree-like structure, as a project. Code can be tested from within the Workbench environment - an external copy of the runtime does not need to be launched by the developer to test code. Bookmarks can be used to easily navigate through large programs. Breakpoints can be toggled on and off to facilitate the debug process. An immediate window is available in break mode to set values and execute code. The tools and features of the Workbench/Debugger allow all NPL developers to significantly increase their productivity. The 5.10 Workbench Beta, and indeed much of the contents of the 5.10 IDE Beta, have just been uploaded to the Gold area of the Niakwa website and are available NOW. Some of the files are large, but if you are willing to download them, you will have immediate access to items like the Workbench Debugger! The Gold area can be found in the NPL Downloads section of http://www.niakwa.com If you are not a renewed reseller, and would like to be, please contact sales@niakwa.com today!
