Niakwa On-Line News Brief
Volume 4 No. 20 Community News & Information October 26, 2000 In this Issue: *DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS On Sunday, October 29, 2000, Daylight Savings Time (DST) ends in North America and in Europe. This should have no effect on the majority of NPL RunTimes in the field with one exception. Users on versions 4.20 or 4.21 with Windows NT installed on an NTFS partition may experience security problems in conjunction with automatic time changes to and from DST (or ST). The cause of this problem is due to workstations becoming out of sync with the MS-Windows NT Server files date and time stamps resulting in the user being prompted for their NPL Gold Key. For details on how to correct the problem, please access the Niakwa Web Site (www.niakwa.com), Tech Note #88 in the NPL Support section. The best solution to avoiding this problem is to upgrade your customers to Revision 4.3 or above. This will correct the security problem. |
