I've just posted some code which includes the $Sh**l command. It seems to have been bowdlerised to '$Sh**l'. What's happening?

End of 1st post.

1st modification to this post:

This one's been bowdlerised as well!

The command I'm trying to write is (just take out the dots) $S.H.E.L.L

I wonder if '$Sh**l' works?

End of 1st modification.

2nd modification:

Nope! Still bowdlerised, but the dots worked (not if you want to copy and paste code, though!).

Perhaps "$Sh**l" might stand the test?

End of 2nd modification.

3rd modification:

Nope! That doesn't work either; my text has been changed!

End of 3rd modification.

4th modification:

Perhaps calling native operating system commands is just naughty?

5th modification:

I should have paid attention to basic2c. He's had the same problem.

Let's see what happens if I write h**l and SELL.

6th modification:

I thought so: Charon won't be taking us across the Styx in NPL. H.E.L.L(without the dots) is not allowed, but SELL is. Replace the 'H' with an 'S' and the word passes muster.

Interesting Forum rules, when you can't even use words from the language that the Forum is supposed to take to the next level (whatever that is, but Dante's Inferno comes to my mind) ...

What about Hades?

7th modification:

That's even worse! Hades is OK!

OK, guys....
I apologize for that one (though it is pretty funny)  Tongue
When I was setting up, I forgot to tell the sensor to check for whole words only, and forgot about the $Shell command..... it has been awhile for me & NPL.

As you can see, it has been corrected.

Although, maybe it should be changed to $SHECK, instead.  Cheesy

I have to admit this is a funny one.  I've been reading thru the posts and have seen this a number of times and just assumed this was the authors shorthand - although it took me a little bit to figure out what he was saying.

Is there any way to fix the previous posts that display "$SH**l"?
