There are certain posts to the Forum that have a very short life.

Two of mine come to mind:

1) $SHELL

2) Development Section of Developers Forum

I suspect that basic2c's "Why is this machine two weeks ahead?" is in the same category.

These posts are just taking up space and I reckon we need to find a way to archive or remove them, depending on the future relevance of the post.

In the $SHELL case, I think it should just be removed: You say you've fixed it, so it shouldn't be an on-going issue.

If the Forum is being updated, say so. We'll come back later.

If the time offset's been set to something ridiculous, then we've finally got a FAQ! "What does time offset mean, and how does it apply to me?"

Perhaps there would need to be some agreement between the moderator and the poster:

- Are you satisfied with the answer (Y/N)?
- Now that your question is resolved, would anyone else care about the answer (Y/N)?

I'm not trying to be smart or clever here; I just think that we're in danger of clogging up an otherwise efficient Forum with irrelevance.

Very good suggestions, Wiz.

I run a couple of other forums, and some of the postings are years old, and are just taking up database space.

Plus it gets increasingly harder to navigate the forum with all the clutter lying about.

I will close out the $s***l   Grin  posting, and the time setting will be posted on the FAQ section.

Thank you for your input.
